The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner reports to the Director of Nursing and supervises nurses and medical assistants.
Job Summary:
Provides specialized wound care in home, nursing homes, and assisted living settings, conducting assessments, developing care plans, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with healthcare teams to promote healing.
Qualifications:
– Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing; licensed NP in the state
– Wound Care Certification within 6 months
– Minimum 2 years of NP, PA, MD, or DO experience
– Ability to work independently, supervise others, and adapt to diverse social and cultural environments
Physical & Mental Requirements:
– Physically active, including lifting and mobility tasks
– Able to work independently, assess situations, and handle stress
– Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Essential Functions:
– Conduct wound assessments and treatments
– Supervise and train staff
– Maintain documentation and follow safety protocols
– Coordinate care with other providers and ensure confidentiality
– Travel within designated region to patient sites
